Is it the double seat? In my 2011 car with the double seat, there were 2 fasteners at the back and 2 at the front, plus a pair of domed screws at the side. Having undone them all (including losing the not very captive nuts on the side screws), I then had to remove the side bars going up to the roll hoop and it was then possible to remove the whole seat and get to the crutch strap clamps. My car has paddle shift, so there was no gear lever to worry about. Oddly, the seat went back in more easily than it came out, but I did fasten the centre straps together to make it easier to feed them back through the seat. I have got fairly big hands, so getting the fasteners back on without dropping them was a bit of a fiddle.
Best bit of advice I can offer is to make sure you know how much you need to adjust the crutch strap by before taking the seat out, because I made mine too short and had to do the whole job again!
Good luck.

Do you have to torque the roll bar bolt up or did you just crank it tight

I can't pretend to know the right answer, but I just cranked it up tight!

To do this (for me) just remove all the bolts/nuts on the seat (6 in total) and then put a cable tie through the rear top/back hole..one side at a time and secure to the roll bar.

This gives you easy access to the crotch strap bolt, remove said bolt and pull through the seat, adjust to desired crotch position and refit...it's easy but time consuming.
