dunlop slicks - compund/construction
Discussion
i understand there is only one compound for dunlop radical slicks, is this correct? does anyone here have any info on the method of construction and/or load rating?
i have a factory clio cup racer which conveniently takes the same size tyres all round as the 205/580 R15 used on the front of the radical. i am in dubai where slicks are expensive, but have managed to find a source of part worn tyres used in the local radical cup.
however the clio is 920kg and the radical slick has a noticeably softer sidewall and thinner 'tread' surface. doesn't seem like there's any steel banding. i wonder how safe it is to use these slicks? they will be used for trackdays at 7/10 speed, not for racing.
