advice on opening out sidepod please

i have recently bought some pr6 wheels and tyres for my car and due to the wider 190 front tyre.the outer edge of the tyre catches the inner arch on the sidepod
would i be better cutting the inner sidepod until the tyre clears then pannelling it back in to block it? or should i modify the sidepods and open them up?
