Considering how useless the SR3 fuel warning light is I would like to install a fuel drain plug to know exactly how much fuel is in the tank. What is the best position for a SR3 to install a fuel drain plug and how do you install it?

?? Where do you insert the dipstick? My tank inlet has an almost S-bend 90 degree hose not allowing to insert anything like a dipstick. You surely do not cut another opening into the tank for a dip stick?
Sorry but at the moment your very concise response makes no sense to me.

Perhaps Simon was thinking oil, not fuel in his cryptic response.

The normal method with the fuel is to pump it out from the fuel rail using a dry-break coupling. Does your SR3 not have this?

No I do not have a dry break coupling. Where do you normally place it?
Do you use the cars own fuel pump to pump out the fuel?

It's in the fuel rail I think or the return and there is a socket in the loom for 12v power to the fuel pump to pump out.

Not easy to see, but the dry break fitting looks like this...http://secure2.cyberware.co.uk/~rad-shop/acatalog/info_1941.html
