as above really. i just noticed an oddity today when fitting the new wheels and slicks i bought from josh smith this week.
i jacked up the rear and fitted one wheel went round the other side to do the same and found it was slightly catching on the thread sticking out of the lower wishbone bush. this is not an issue as i can trim a couple of threads from the offending bolt.
i then went back to wheel number 1 to find out why it wasn't catching, and discovered there was no bolt, locking nut or outer suspension bush and that the bolt/bar was way back inside the wishbone sleevemad
should there be a long bolt/threaded rod from the outer wishbone bush-through the sleeve and bush and into the upright? or does the upright come with it already built in? the reason i ask is that on the catching wheel there was a locking nut on the outer end of the bush so was wondering where the bolt head was or should be?
i didn't have time to strip the uprights down, and as its so close to the sidepod i couldnt get my fat head in to take a look, but id like to know what i need to buy to sort the issue! cheers

the long thin bolt that goes through the bottom of the upright can be bent or broken inside

im talking about the lower upright bolt where it goes through the outer lower wishbone bush not an adjuster sorry.
it it a really long bolt that goes through the rose joint, lower upright, and wishbone bush? or should it bolt from the other side, through the wishbone bush and into the upright if threaded? the outer red bush (towards sidepod is completely missing so im assuming the bolt is snapped inside and that nothing is holding the upright tightly in position? thanks for the reply
car is a 98 clubby if it makes a difference

the bolt has broken and one end has dropped out. you need a long 8mm punch knock it through. new bolt and bush

does it just bolt through the bush and thread into the upright? or is it a really long bolt thet bolts through the rose joint, upright and wishbone bush? if so would there be a reason why i couldnt put the bolthead at the bush end, leaving the excess threads at the rosejoint end which is well clear of the wheel!

Any chance of some pix?

But it could help explain your handling inconsistencies.

ill try to get to the garage and take some, as my explanations are not great.
basically the lower rear wishbone has a threaded insert to screw in the adjustable rose joint at one end and a suspension bush+tube at the other end. the bottom of the upright sits between the 2!
it looks like a long bolt should pass through the rose-joint,upright and bush. with a locking nut on the outer end of the bush.
on one side the threads are sticking out bast the bush by about 15mm which catches on the wheel, but on the other side it appears the bolt has sheared inside the wishbone (where the polybush should be) and the locking nut and bush are no longer present!
thanks for the help again guys, and id imaging it is causing some handling issues!

Time for a camber gauge and string your car to see what's up with the handling.

it was just set up prior to me buying it and my first outing in the dry was superb. i can only assume its happened on one of the last 2 trackdays ive done and both were very wet so had limited grip anyway!
looking at it from the back, it looks like its toeing in a bit on that rear corner! cheers

I've had some problems with 10" wide wheels on the rear of my clubbie and I've grinded the top of the bolt and I had no problem since.
