engaging reverse
Discussion
Morning chaps.
Just a quick question regarding selecting reverse on an SR4.
Is there a specific technique for this. I've only tried it with engine off so far as I don't see engine running would make any difference.
The lever is very very stiff. I've tried rocking the car gently and it makes no difference.
Thanks Gary

Cant help in using it as my clubbie doesnt have it, bet the reason it's so stiff is no-one has used it. try pushing it. it will be cheaper
Seconded! It seems to be a bit of a Catch 22 feature: not there to be used but there to be there (and thus meet a Reg).
"there to be there" - pace BertBert!
I realise that this sort stylistic repetition is your territory but feel that you are sufficiently generous to allow the odd imitator (and I am, trust me, an odd imitator)...............
We used ours on the PR6 for the first time in 3 years in parc ferme after our last race at Combe. Was very nervous of it doing what its actually supposed to do!
Have always kept the reverse part of the diff unit greased and was happy that upon the first attempt, the car went backwards.
The handle fitted doesnt give great leverage to move the HD cable and reverse unit so does need a good yank.

Yep, the lovely one who has been assigned to us.
Not the adjective I would choose. That'd be the same one who checked the ride height on my car and told me it was low at one point. When I pointed out that the paddock Tarmac was uneven he said" yeh I know but I was just looking for a rough indication..." So I spent lots of money and any hours to get my car set up spot on to the mm and he's got the power to exclude me with rough indications. Simon T said:

So, why do roundy roundy types accept that sort of cr*p?Why don't you complain to the MSA steward at the event on the grounds of incompetence and follow it up with a complaint to MSA Central?
Remember that you pay for all the MSA's activities and so the MSA exists to serve competitors not the reverse.
If you're not prepared to complain about bad service then you deserve what you get!

I guess we are just nicer. TBH won't be racing there again unless they find some cars to race against so not worth the hassleWhy don't you complain to the MSA steward at the event on the grounds of incompetence and follow it up with a complaint to MSA Central?
