hi guys,has anyone had there plug melt?the one that comes from the generator to the rectifier,this is on a 1440 hayabusa.thanks

i have but on a blade motor, it was a faulty rectifier which had been getting too hot. and it was 2 of the 3 wires which go to the stator windings in the generator.
i re positioned the reg/rec into an area with good airflow and didnt have any issues after that. the carbed blades apparrently had this issue with overheating. it had literally melted 2 of my wires together and therefore not working causing battery drain.
i wasnt aware of this issue on the busa though. i was told to fit one from a kawasaki which was bigger and worked perfectly.
they are usually just 3 wires across the bottom from the generator which can be connected any way round. a +ve and a -ve

Check the in line fuse in the harness. Water gets in, the contacts corrode, the resistance goes up and the current generates heat in all the connections

thanks guys,have hard wired the plug and will be moving the rectifier in to the side pod,how about this am going to Alderney on the 18th for a 3 day event,2 hills and a sprint,apres drinks are one round of 10 people £24,anyone up for next year get in touch.
