Just wondering if there are other alternatives beside the factory AVOs or Intrax dampers. Has anybody had experience with other damper set ups?

I've had Koni 2812s (used to be sold by the factory) which I didn't have very good luck with. I've also had Penske 8100 (2-way) and currently have Penske 8760 (3-way) that I've had great luck with. Would highly recommend to anyone.

All that's really required is the correct free lengths and the appropriate sized ends (or bushing to suit). I'm sure any racing damper can be made work.

I use Protech and they work well as a much cheaper alternative.

Had a set of custom Nitrons built for Black Betty: the results speak for themselves.

Thanks for the feedback. I had a look at the Nitrons. Very nice but too expensive for me. Will investigate the Penske and Protech options.

If Nitrons are too expensive then prepare yourself for severe unhappiness with Penske prices..................... rolleyes

weepingWhy do they have to be so expensive?weeping
Quite seriously on a 2.1 km windy track what sort of time improvements could I expect with a high quality set of shocks vs. my Avos?
