am pleased to say i now have my very own 1100cc clubsport (in superb condition) but before i run it on track i would like to know if there is a detailed check list or setup procedure? its my first ever single seater and am a novice driver so need to make sure im making the most of the car!
is there any kind of workshop manual available detailing oil changes, oil, recomended suspension settings, brake pads etc? as well as recommended service intervals?
ive also got 2 x full sets of allycat wheels on slicks and 1 x full set of rims on wets.6" fronts 8" rears so what tyre widths would you guys run front and back.car currently has 160 front 170 rear! cheers guys

Congratulations on your purchase and hope you enjoy it
The workshop manual has all the info you have requested, think it used to be available on the Radical website but I couldn't see it. If you can't find it either I'll email it on.
I have a set of ally cats for my dunlop wets and I'm pretty sure they are 175 or 185 on the front and 210 on the back.
Cheers,
Dunc.

www.tillingmotorsport.com for the manual, in tech i think.
i also run the dunlop wets on ally cats, im certain they are 175 fronts, unsure of rears tho. As radical supply for the SR4 (used set from BertBert) so having a quick look, F175/R205.
Some useful info can be found here too http://www.mtcracing.co.uk/page209.asp

Does seem narrow yes, when i got mine it was on avon cross ply slicks, 7"(178mm) front & 8.2"(208mm)rears as listed on the mtcracing site.
The standard radical slicks are TBH probably a bit over tyred for the rims but as they are just the wets and i only do trackdays they are suitable for me.
best option? some new comp CXR's in 7" & 9" (or 8" & 10" if your feeling brave i think they would rub and require side pod mods on mine) but obviously comes at a cost.

No!
In a word...................
There's the Dunlop HC100 but it's not officially available in the UK and seems better suited to hot, long European hillclimbs. BMTR told me that they'd tested a set and they didn't come close to Avons under UK conditions.
Why not set the car up for Avon Radials, use A15 for sprints/hillclimbs and A53 for circuits? (apart from the £s that is).

Getting repetitive this isn't it?
You could get away with running the Dunlop wet on Avon settings. As you're unlikely to be generating significant aero loads in a standard Clubbie and if it's really wet with low mechanical grip you won't experience high Lateral Acceleration, so running the Dunlops more upright and thus with the contact patch flatter will be OK.
Now, I don't personally like the Dunlops and much prefer hand cut Avons. But at £1k ish for a set you'll be fine on the Dunlops until you wear them out!
I don't want to add to your misery, but if you want to be really, really competitive in speed events you will need a second set of A15's! You then use 1 set (the oldest) for practice in the morning, change them at lunch time and use the newer set for competition runs in the afternoon. A15s "go off" very quickly and so you need to clean them up (either the Surform and soapy water method or the heat gun and scraper approach) between events and, if you are budget-bound to using one set, give the fronts (particularly) a clean over lunchtime.
Also don't forget that if you buy from BMTR you can take slightly "tired" but clean slicks back and have them hand cut FOC to Inters which are a really useful tyre (unlike wets!). Inters are good for those cold mornings in spring and autumn, damp tracks and dusty tarmac. With the Force, we probably run Inters at some point during around 40% of events!
BTW have I sent you Clubbie/Prosport chassis settings for Avon? If not, PM me and I will do so.
