Guys,

I am considering buying a Radical. It will be for my father, who has never raced and done very little track work in, to learn how to drive a race car and then for us to race jointly once he gets up to scratch.

I have many sports cars and currently race a porsche however know nothing about Radicals (except they can go round corners faster than all of my cars!!). Given the above can anyone suggest which model I would be best going for and if there are any particular options to ensure I have included?

Also if anyone reads this and decides they have something they would like to sell that they think would fit the bill, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Jevs

Budget? (you can spend from around £8k for a 12 year old Clubsport to over £60k for a used SR8).

Preparation expertise/facilities? (They aren't fire and forget like a Porker and need checking and fettling after every outing. The older bike engined cars, like the Clubsport, are easier for the amateur to look after than a fully loaded SR8).

Not really got a budget but £30k sounds about right.

Im not into all that mechanical nonsense. Will engage a team for that so any recommendations on that front would be well received.

Best,

There's not that many choices. What race series are you planning on running in? How are you doing the sharing? One race each at a 2 race meeting? You have choices of an SR3, PR06, SR1 (or is that 4?). You can race all of them in the Radical Clubmans cup or 750MC. I'd expect to see some SR1s out in the Clubmans cup next year. Or an SR3 in the SR3 challenge?
