I met a couple of guys whilst queuing at the parts lorry during race one (Clubman's Cup Snet) whistle who were from the Uni of Staff and I believe they were running BertBert? Now everyone says that us uni students know nothing about the real world etc etc, just wondering how you find them to be? I know I'd have been interested in that course if I'd have known about it!

Seemed to have their heads screwed on and were certainly enthusiastic! And I know that my experiences with Mectech (and the summer I spent working for the blue oval) definitely helped me get a job. Also surprised that they were mostly foundation year guys with a Second year to supervise them!

How to answer...of course they are inexperienced in Radicals and some of them (as you point out) inexperienced in racing. But Staffs run a brilliant operation taking account of the inexperienced guys with experience in the right places.

And above all, they are keen to learn and learn they do.

I planned it out with help from Radical to fill in the gaps, do factory training and to provide help on the day. So all in all, I am very happy with how it's worked out. Phil and the guys have been superb and the Staffs boys just suck it up!

I'm going better now than ever, so something seems to be right!

Your pace was noticed!

That's great, I hope they're grateful for the opportunity. Like I say I know that it's things like that which make the difference between a 'green' graduate and someone that's employable.
