Fuel pickup problems on SR3
Discussion
Hey Guys,
I'm having an odd problem that feels like fuel starvation, although its intermittent and doesn't always seem to correlate with slosh. Basically the engine bogs on corner exit as I'm getting back on the power for 1-2 seconds. This has been happening at Buttonwillow only in turn 2, which is the slowest and slipperiest corner on the track, but not in any other corner. If I have the tank completely full, it isn't a problem, but even after using about 2 gallons it becomes a problem.
I have an '04 SR3 with the 1500cc motor, but the chassis was originally fit with the old turbo motor, so I believe I have an odd dual-fuel pump arrangement. Does anyone know anything about how the turbo cars fuel pump arrangement worked? Has anyone had a similar problem to mine?
Thanks,
Tom

I am based in Australia and own a 2008 SR3, one of the last before the RS.
Have you confirmed your battery voltage. My SR3 suffered with the same issue at Winton, which is a very tight track with slow corners, loads of wide open throtle at low revs. The charging harness had a bad connector which was causing the connector to overheat and the battery voltage to drop to 10.4 volts. Another possible issue if its running MBE is the Throttle position setting (the black pot on the RHS of the throttle bodies) adjusting this will shift the mapping. You will need the MBE lead and a laptop to asertain the input to the ECU
I set this up on a dyno which made a big difference, the radical mapping is very rich at the lower rpm and unfortunately cant be adjusted due to the locked ECU, however setting the TP made a big difference to the mid /lower end power delivery

1) That looks nothing like pukka motorsport ESF period.
2) And nothing like anythiing I've ever seen breaking down within a genuine Radical OEM tank - the foam used is usually the 'Green' Category.
3) It's a pity Radical don't make ally FTs with a proper unboltable inspection hatch that can be used to properly clean a tank and (as it certainly doesn't last forever) periodically renew the foam.
