Hi everyone,

My SR3 is on the way to NZ after purchasing via PistonHeads (thanks Noel)! 3 weeks and counting!!!

I'm going through the paperwork with Motorsport New Zealand to get a log book issued and have been asked to provide info on the build specification of the factory fitted, FIA approved and stickered roll protection. It's stupid I know, but what can I do...
MSNZ has a habit of preffering something done by a guy in a shed here and something that has already been approved by the FIA just isn't good enough. Grrrr......

Does anyone have MSA paper 1964, which relates to the build spec and approval for the SR3 roll protection they could send me or point me to please?
This apparently has all the info I need on it to get approval.

Failing that, if anyone could tell me the manufacturer of the Tube Material and Standard (if known)
Outside Diameter (mm)
Wall Thickness (mm).

Thanks!

Richard

That's plan B, but sometimes when you are doing stuff from the otherside of the planet and it's a weekend, a post can get everything underway.

You probably won't get a lot of sense/response out of anyone over the weekend?

Radical will of course have it .......... and obviously, so should the MSA ........... it'll be in the fifteenth small grey file just to the left of the eleventh medium sized grey file just above the second big grey box file in the fourth grey filing unit on the left hand side just behind the third grey door. If you find yourself facing a grey wall, you've gone too far wink

That's exactly the way I feel so far.

The cage has an FIA approval sticker on it. That should be end of story!
I feel a remit to the next MSNZ AGM coming on...

Quite So!

I just visited MNZ's website and (just like the MSA over here), they are appointed by guess who? Yep, the FIA!!!!!!!!

I suggest your question @ the AGM should be along the lines of 'OK what bright spark came up with the idea of questioning the Global Authority (who happened to appoint you fellas) who sets the International Standards and demands detailed technical evidence of compliance with the same?/Who amongst you (and/or which bloke in a shed) reckons they know better than the FIA?
