Those pics were taken at Brands on last Wednesdays Goldtrack Day,Yep it looks and sounds and is speced just like an SR4.

Good value though!

You guys are correct in that it is based on an SR4 chassis, but there have been some aero and spec changes and it is fitted with the 1340cc engine. All of which keep the costs down without removing the essence of the car - it's still a proper sports racer, and those who got to drive it Brands last week will testify that it remains brilliant fun to drive.

It's been introduced to offer a very cost effective way into Radical ownership and is aimed predominately at the trackday market. There will however be a race championship in due course, but it will be very different from anything we've done before. There will be news on this very soon, so stay tuned for that. Calling it the SR1 makes it easier to differentiate from the SR4 and streamlines the naming conventions to make it easier to understand for those new to Radical.

Looks terrific to us and certainly sparked our interest as a replacement for our SR3. When we want something new and shiny that is!

Does this mean the SR4 is being phased out as I dont see it featured in the Radical Motorsport showroom any longer?

Errrrr, yes, but only sort of.

Jeepers, all those hours and hours of fettling away on your lonesome.

What to do now?

I can only suggest an extensive further development programme comprising of a couple of vinyls.

BTW, did you notice that BertBert has an SR1 Chassis for sale? hehe
