Hello,

Yesterday, during a day of running, I noticed there was oil on the flat bottom of the car. This oil comes from the Differential Gear drive unit.

The oil flows only when I drive, and I do not see the source of the casting.

By or derived from the oil, how to check the level?

thank you very much

They all do that!

The oil level should be such that it can just be seen at the bottom edge of the drain on the side of the GDU. You take out the side drain plug, and fill from the top just until the oil level reaches the bottom edge of the drain hole

Mine used to do that as well. To stop it I used 50% Lucas Transmission Fix and 50% gear oil. This is a non-solvent formula that stops slip, hesitation and rough shifting in worn transmissions and completely eliminates most seal leaks.
I have no more leaks and the stuff apparently extends gear life span dramatically.

I had a leaking seal and a crack in the casing close to the top forward mount on the right had side. Both common issues it seems, one cheap the other not.
