NEW POP UP AWNING
Discussion
I bought an E-ZUP Eclipse about 10 years ago, use it regularly and it is still going strong. http://readresourcesltd.com/
Positives:
- Rugged
- Reliable
- Quick to erect
- Quicker still to take down
- Stands up in really bad weather (while the lightweight aluminium ones crumple and blow away), provided you tie it down
- Because of its extending legs you can have it erected in a low position to cover your car if it's left out overnight
Negatives:
- The steel legs and frame mean that it is HEAVY (ie a one strong man lift, but not a weak man or a single woman)
- It needs a minimum of 2 people to put it up (but is better with 4)
- It's not cheap and I found that the essential accessories bumped the price up significantly
- every other bugger in the vicinity will want to stand under it when it rains............

Same here, I bought the heavy duty E-Zup 6mx3m awning complete with all the sides in 2003 and it's stood up to howling winds on the mountains of Wales albeit anchored to wheels.
Some of the spring buttons were lost so I used other pins, but when I was at the Autosport show in 2011, the EZ shelter stand gave me a small bag of them for free, brilliant customer service.
....heavy but liftable, just strap it into a little sack trolley and away you go.
Be weary of imitations and go for the heavy duty one IMHO

Recent purchase, only used once 'in anger' so far, but early signs very encouraging. As vid shows tremendously strong ally frame (Protex 1) - don't let ally make you think it's therefore light - frame weighs about 75Kg.
Why oh why didn't I spot and watch the vid before trying to put it up for the first time rather than trying to work it all out ourselves in the wind and rain! Typical
