Id use mine all the time if I remembered to put them on. Flies, oil, water spray and other crap seems to be a magnet to visors. You only need to put one on but they are handy instead of smearing your visor with your glove half way through.
Just don't take them on and off as the holes become larger and it will flick off half way through a race when you don't expect it to!

Waste of time. I had one once upon a time a tear-off that started fretting against the visor in the rain and the resultant scratches ruined the visor. A good alternative may be a piece of transparent vinyl to protect against the big chips etc that you just replace a few times a year. Otherwise just buy a new visor every now and then. Easy to get 30 or 40 % off at the autos port show or even better phone up and ask for the autosport price and you don't have to bother yourself going to the NEC to get one. Mark
I've just started using them and find them very handy. I haven't been out in the wet when I've been required to tear them off on track, but back in the pits I just take a layer off and I'm good to go. I think if you get the right brand they should go one without damage, and at least help to protect the visor from stones/rubber etc.
A friend bought some tearoffs from Arai and had issues with them scratching his new visor, but I'm not sure if that was an application issue. I use the X-Stacks on my Bell and they work well with no noticeable damage.

IMHO Tearoffs are very useful. They give you a chance to get the oil off your visor in one fell swoop and protect your visor from stone chips, scratches etc. To avoid wear marks on the visor put a 8mm strip of Sellotape along the top and bottom edge of your visor, this helps give the tear off something to seat on.

I have experimented with various tear offs in the past. The big issue for me is that I wear glasse so any tear off becomes a 3rd or 4th lens to me.
The best by far are "Racing Optics" who supply "vision grade" plastic as opposed to others supplying "industrial grade" plastic. I can honestly say when they are on I can't see any differnce in vision ( that english no doubt will encourage some smart bottom comment )
The one issue I did face was that in rain, water could get down the back of the tear off and cause a film. I cured this by using sellotape, but the opaque stuff designers use that goes clear when applied, to run at the top of the tear off. As we only run short races I never had a need for more than one tear off at a time.
The website only shows USA but when I used the contact form it ended up eventually in Germanyy and there is an agent/distributor here in the UK.

Good tip. The edges of the tear-offs do tend to fret on the visor, don't they?Being a profligate type, I'll try the same with leading edge tape.
