On 3, there's some 2Ds in here (Page 21)>

http://www.radicalsportscars.com/global/SR3_manual...

But the best way to do it is to find someone who is handy with photoshop and do it more 'real time'.

Hope this helps.

Have you thought of having custom graphics done? I'm getting my car done on Saturday and it's going to cost less than the kit from Radical.

I think you will probably need to sort this out your end - Veneto to Peterborough is a long way to trailer an RS 'just' to have some vinyl applied!

I'll explain >

I have had a couple of brand new Radicals 'bespoke vinyled' and Radical have always used a company local to them called 'The Sign Team' to come into the factory to apply them; they do not use (there are no such thing as) 'pre-cuts'; each car is individually vinyled; they do it by chalking, tape lining and then putting big sheets of vinyl on (dry, no 'floating it on'), which are then cut to shape on the car, de-taped and applied. It's great to watch, a real art and in my opinion, certainly no job for an amateur; the finished result (albeit, the design and colours are obviously down to the particular Customer's tastes/preferences) looks fantastic, all credit to them.

I think that what you should do is look at photos of the various ways various RSs have been vinyled, then get someone to do a photoshop if you want to decide if it's right for you/your colours and then find a local vinyl guy to actually do it; preferably someone with a good reputation who does 'vinyl-vehicle-graphics' for a living; in other words, don't let just any idiot loose with a scalpel anywhere near your bodywork! If you decide to try to do it yourself (and the shape of the RS is pretty complex), then frankly you're a braver soul than I am (I am OK with the odd sticker here and there!) and do be prepared to waste a lot of vinyl and perspiration! In other words, make sure no-one is close enough to hear all that swearing you'll be doing!

There are two variants as I understand it fitted to the SR3RS. Need to make sure which one you need.

If you fit the standard seat well i.e. you don't need to have a foam insert 'cast' and especially if you are a bit 'boney', although they are only thin, they make it a lot more comfortable, especially if you're in the car for a fair while such as doing trackdays. Thoroughly recommend them; they are held in place by velcro, so they can easily be removed for using the seat without the insert and cleaning the bits of grit that will come off your boots stepping into the car.

I'd say go for the vinyl one; less prone to allowing and holding damp; go for the black one (no colour inserts), much more practical in terms of resisting getting grubby - afterall, you stand on the seat base part of it getting in.

Personally, unless you know someone who is brilliant with scissors and a heavy duty sewing machine, I'd buy it (or both if you want both seats more comfy in the RS) from Radical; better that than pay less and it not to fit properly?

I don't really understand these things - and I don't know if it's of any use to anyone - but it looks like you can buy 3D models of the current Radical range from here:

http://www.creativecrash.com/marketplace/3d-models...

OK, so they're the thick end of 200 dollars, but I'd give my eye-teeth for the same of my Speads.

See earlier Luca; say you fancy/have a black car, get some decent photos of one and get a bright young chap (there's a lot of them about and they are keen and cheap - the offer of a free of charge passenger ride usually does the trick!) to do a photoshop job on it.

Here's one I had done; this started life as a black car with white and red detailing >

NOW REMOVED

Hey Trevor!!!!! what a nice work!!! Congratulation!
but...how can a chapper create a ''file'', with real measures and dimensions of the car, only with some photos????

Thanks Luca.

Other than what Iain (CJ) has suggested, sorry, but I really don't know - being over here, we've got all of this relatively easy; we're either with The Sign Team at the factory with a new car or at theirs with not a new car; we have no need of files; we photoshop what we want, send it to them prior, then go over to them to work with them firsthand on the car as they put on the vinyls; they tape it out and we decide/direct any adjustments/fine tuning that we want - like "Move that line up a bit, we want the yellow a bit wider."

Can't you do exactly the same with an equivalent of The Sign Team over there? That is, do a design, send it to them, get and agree a price, take it over to them and direct them while they do it; for example, one of the things they will have to do is to work out the best way to do the vinyls so they are using it economically; for example where best to do any lap joints as the length of some of the RS's panels can necessitate that, as vinyl only comes in certain widths.

Doing photoshops and directing firsthand sounds very primitive and complicated, but it's not; the vinyl people are the ones doing all the hard work with that vinyl that's oh so awkward to handle for the likes of you and me! thumbup

I'm getting mine done on Saturday, and the process for me was as follows:

1. Contact a graphics/vinyl wrapping company
2. Send them images fo the car
3. They draw up a model of what it looks like and send me a few samples based on images I've sent them of other race car liveries
4. Agree to move forward based on designs and price
5. Take final measurements of the car
6. Tweak designs until I'm happy
7. Decide on colours and materials
8. Put vinyl on car!

Unfortunately I can't send you mine as it's a custom design for my motorsport team (and not an RS), not based on a Radical graphics package. The person applying your graphics should also come up with the design for you, and you shouldn;t have to purchase a modelling kit.
