Radical parts better priced here
Discussion
Just a few months ago I bought my first Radical (SR4). I needed to buy some parts and found out that Radical charges double or triple on some of the parts. So I did a research and found some alternatives.
I was expecting to find some suggestions on the forums but could not, so I decided to list what I have found.
Please feel free to add your findings
Heavy duty McGill Rose joints 10mm £10,00. Radical £22,85
Avdel quick release pip pin (eBay) £4,99 Radical £27,00
Spherical bearings (eBay) £2-£4 Radical £22
Bushes demon tweeks (powerflex)
Body clips Protex Part no:50-1535
Wheel nut lock springs http://www.dfaulknersprings.com

We all try to save money where we can a list of parts can be found on mtcracing.co.uk
All I'll say is good luck when your flat in sixth going down craner with your £10 rose joint and £2 spherical bearing made in china!!!
Absolutely nothing wrong with McGills kit, or there service either. All I'll say is good luck when your flat in sixth going down craner with your £10 rose joint and £2 spherical bearing made in china!!!
I take it for fact the source of Radical rose joints is not China ?
We all know that Radical do charge very high prices for items that clearly are not manufactured by them. We also understand that Radical are in business to make profits and build up a strong organisation that can develop new cars. However, when they charge well over the odds for non-radical sourced parts that can be easily bought for less elsewhere they have only themselves to blame if owners seek out those parts from other suppliers. The most useful site I have found is http://www.mtcracing.co.uk/page209.asp - as noted by JP Ivey, but this web page is not now regularly updated because Rob Clarke is no longer involved with Radicals. I needed a water pump recently and found out that it is a BOSCH PCA 12V 0392 022 002 which I obtained for about £90 from AVT www.chargecooler.co.uk instead of from Radical for £137. Rob Clarke says he will update his site if he gets new information from owners.
Certainly someone should keep this valuable list up to date. Alternatively the factory might want to re-think their pricing policy so that they do not lose revenue and still continue to make reasonable profits.

Interestingly, dfaulknersprings want to charge nearly twice as much as Rad for wheel nut retaining springs.
This is what they charge:To set up to make:
6 off £18.50 each
10 off £15.75 each
20 off £12.95 each
30 off £9.50 each
The price above includes powder coating, normally Red.
Manufacture time 10-12 working days.
Carriage & VAT to be added.

Presumably at those prices, platinum, gold or sterling silver plated is available as a no-cost option?
I shall add that item to the already long list of motorsport bits that I must never reveal to the 'motorsport unenlightened' for fear of them wishing to arrange a flying visit for me from the men in the white coats.
Economy thought - far far less quick and convenient I know, but do they actually do anything more 'function-wise' than a splitpin could achieve? That's the temporary solve I'd use if one went AWOL - or all four if some low-life decides to nick all four and retire to the Bahamas.

Was a bit surprised at the battery prices by Rad, £163.24 for a Odyssey PC545, just bought direct from Odyssey online for £87.50 - Big difference there (both prices inc. VAT)

Or a smidge cheaper on good old eBay.
Dunc.
