Hello

Yesterday while driving I noticed that the speedometer miles / hour did not work when I was braking, at least it shows 0 even when I brake I go again!

Is this normal?

thank you

Sounds like you locking the wheel where the sensor is.

This happens throughout the duration of the braking as soon as I let go the accelerator

st, you do not have much joy with this car!

Why, it's serious?

It was supposed to be an amusing observation i.e. given the diff issues, now this (a problem I have never come across before), you do not seem to be having much (good) luck with this car! Perhaps you should consider carrying a black cat in the passenger seat?

No, it won't be serious; one assumes that either coming off the accelerator or going onto the brakes is causing the sensor not to communicate what it is sensing to the dash; check whether either the throttle or the brakes are contacting either the sensor or it's wiring; check continuity of wiring and security of connections.

I'll leave it to BertBert to interpret - not only is daughter Jen fluent in French, he's also a more frequent poster than me.

My speedo has not been working for many months. One day I will fix it but in the mean time all that metters is rpm and lap times. Not having a speedo is not such a bad thing as I purely concentrate on driving - the reward is in the lap times.

Very true, unlike the oil temp that seems to have stopped working on the clubbie. Started and run up (to water temp) and oil was still 0. dam another job to sort. wink

They do seem to do some mighty odd things on occassions; just flicked the ignition on (didn't start it) on the Prosport and it showed 24degC on Oil Temp and 28degC on Water Temp - I should get in touch with National Grid or similar and see whether they want to buy self-generated surplus heat energy off me?

I seem to recollect that the SR4 had a slightly different dash which didn't show temps until they reached a certain temp; 45degC from memory; my recollection (even more vague) is that they were completely blank upto that point i.e. they didn't show 0degC; so said, if my recollection is wrong, it couldn't be that someone's fitted the later dash and it didn't get upto 45degC I suppose?

Wishful thinking probably.

Most (it not all) of the strange Dash reading on temperature etc. are caused by wiring and connector problems, often hard to rack down somewhere in the loom and its connectors, others simply the wire falling of the sensor banghead

Never looked into it further as still on the trailer but hopefully just a wire fallen off

TBH Angus, although those not warmed up/'cold' temperatures seem nuts to me, I've thermometer checked the up to temp readings and they are spot on. So I've taken the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' wallet friendly approach.

So if I understand this does not prevent the car run? Cele as not important for me to know the speed when I brake.
Thank you all for the information, but I find it hard to translate I think was because of spelling mistakes!

One more go with Bing Translator ......... whistle

In my 2005 SR3 Oil temp is also blanc not showing anything until it hits 45 degC.
