As someone running one of the oldest Radicals in competition I would like to add to the list of things we should check as the car ages.

Today I have had to weld up the seat mount where it is attached to the chassis as it had broken off, examining the other it had also cracked along half its length.

I had already replaced the broken top mount where it attaches to the bulkhead.

I also recently had to replace the master clutch cylinder.

Not on my car but a prosport had the main chassis break just in front of the rear top shock mounts, no doubt due to the excessive weight and extra downforce caused by the rear wing?

Not a refection on the radical quality, just an addition the things we should check on ageing race cars.

It also begs the question of how people "life" the parts in their cars? Do people replace the uprights after 50 hours of use?

no pics and any now would only show my C**p welding.

Adding to the list I had the long threaded rod that runs through the bottom of the rear upright break last year.

The only partsthat a genuinely "life" are the chain, the oil and the tyres.
