GPSW data logger antenna mounting

Just wondering where the best place(s) to mount a gps data logger antenna is? Reading the guidelines for mounting most say it must have a clear view of the sky in all directions and preference to have a secure vibration free (within reason) metal surface.

Any guidance appreciated

We had one temporarily mounted on ours last week; seemed to work fine, just gaffer tape mounted onto the gf shroud behind the roll bar looking straight up.

That doesn't sound nearly as bad as suggested, do you know what system that was Trev?

my DL1 antenna was double sided taped to a small plate that was epoxied to the top of the roll bar on my clubsport.

Sorry Dunc, it was a Video VBox rather than a DL System, but whatever it's purpose in life, a GPS receiver is a GPS receiver?
