Is there anyone out there who has installed a ZZR 1400 Kawasaki into a Radical SR4? it has a ZZR1200 installed at present, this has a dry sump fitted and it does not look as this is compatible with the 1400 engine. Also the engine mounting brackets are in a different place. I am sure that I read something about someone doing this and wondered if the components to facilitate this are readily available and cost effective?

Don't know anybody who has put one in an SR4 but I know 2 people who've put them in Clubsports.

It's an impressive engine and, in a Clubbie with standard ECU, injection and a Power Commander, I have seen it give better output than a 1500 K7 'Busa.

Sound like a job for Douglas (Minitici) at Westgarage Engineering (www.westgarage.co.uk) to me. Douglas did the ZZR transplant on Angus Buchan's car.

Hi, Thanks for these posts on the kwaka engine transfer, I will make contact with the company who have done the job before as I have had experience of people learning 'how to' at my expense in the past!

A wise decision methinks.

Douglas did a good job with Angus' car whereas the home brewed one blew up this weekend on it's second event. yikes

If you do go down this route i may be interested if your ZZR1200 engine as i have a ZZR1100 kit car so would be a upgrade for me.

Have you done this Richard?

Yes we did put it in but the oiling was always a problem, I would suggest going with the Hyabusa that fits in easy as there are brackets available for it and you can fit a dry sump which is important.

I might have a Hayabusa 1400 for sale as I just put in a 1585 in mine. Still have to try it out before I go ahead and sell though . :-)
