Does anybody know what Hi Spec Motorsport products (discs and calipers) are used as the Radical brake upgrade offered by Radical. Hi Spec Motorsport must have the same parts available with a different order number off the shelf http://www.hispecbrake.co.uk/ .
Are there any other off the shelf options in upgrading discs and calipers that fit the SR3? Thanks

Errrr. Am I missing the obvious?

Phone HiSpec and ask them what will fit your car.

I've always found them helpful in this respect.

That's exactly what I did (send e-mail as I am based in Australia). Response was that I should contact Radical regarding all brake upgrades. Not that helpful this time. I guess its because they will rebadge for Radical?

They are not allowed to sell any Radical related / sized brake parts direct as part of their supply agreement with the factory form what I gather, it all has to go through Radical themselves.....

I fear that such an agreement would be a breach of EU open market regulations and render the participants open to penalties of up to 3 times annual turnover.

Radical can prevent HiSpec selling Radical branded parts (justifiably) but not from selling existing HiSpec branded parts that will fit a Radical car.

HiSpec have for several years sold a range of Dynalite pattern replacement calipers and matching discs which are bolt-on substitutes for the (allegedly inferior) Ford/Wilwood components.

Great info from LCM there, maybe have to point that out to get the right result!

It is all about the question you ask.

If you ask for "brakes for my Radical", you'll (quite correctly) get sent to the big R.

If you currently have Wilwoods and ask for fully floating replacements for them to fit inside an X" wheel you may get a different answer. Similarly if you are able to specify the mounting points and other relevant dims. Depending on the car and model, I think that some people have had to buy their bells from Big R but then used independent discs and calipers.

Alternatively one could speak to Anthony Lane at Techcraft (son of the late, great Roy) http://www.techcraft.co.uk/. I have not yet met anyone who knows more about brakes and is more willing to help (particularly us hillbillys).

I will give Anthony a call. Thanks.
Still wondering if anybody has upgraded their brakes with "non genuine" calipers and discs.
