I'm looking to adjust the pedals in my car to move them forward slightly and reading the owners manual it states that this can be done by moving the pedal pivot shaft and that this will require changing the master cylinder push-rods.

Has any one done this before and got any feedback, advise etc?

Done it myself & its not a 5 min job by any stretch of the imagination....

If you email me with a phone number I will call you to run through it if you like?

If you only need slight movement, I would think it unlikely you'll need to move the pedal pivot. You can adjust them on the pushrod as well as with the adjustable pedal top (IYSWIM).

The pedal box is on my winter 'to do list' after inspecting it and realising how much work was involved to just move the pivot point further towards the front of the car!

And you can move the seats slightly back and forth.

Other than the adjustment on the pedal top, as suggested, I'm not sure I'd want to be fiddling too much with the pivots.

This may be a good or crazy idea....it seems to me moving pedals forward etc seems like a lot of hassle.
If you were to put in front of the pedals a small bar, welded/riveted etc that you then placed your heels against would that give you the "length" you require ? What I mean is that it gives a place of leverage as well as creating a bend in your knee and therefore "shortening" the distance betwen hip and foot.....
Or am I on the wrong camel with this one ?

Hi David,

Do you mean like the old clubbys and prosports that had some angle before the pedals for your heel to rest on?

If so, you may then have my problem of my knees being either side of the steering column which hurts after after a few bumpy laps at Combe!!

I have the seat up against the fuel tank skin, pedal pads wound right in and have shortened the pushrods as a quick solution but still need to move the pedal pivot point backwards as it still isn't enough for me.
