Anyone know what should hold the oil cooler in place?

Discovered mine moving around and quite loose, when prreviously it seemed to be jammed in tight in the side pod, but I can't see how it should be fixed.

Greatful for any help, as usual.

As I recall, two bolts at one end into the sidepot at the bottom, then a bracket from the chassis to one end at the top. Someone may correct me. It should have a bit of foam rubber type stuff between it and the sidepod to make it a snug fit. Perhaps that has dropped out....

The foam is still there, but no bolts or brackets that I can see. If it wasn't for the inlet and outlet pipes, I could take it out!

For what they're worth (not sure what's original, what's not, - suspect bottom fixings are, but maybe not top bracket - but who cares, it's all nicely stable), here are three pics of how it is on our wet sump 'Busa Prosport; as you can see, bracket on the top onto side pod and rivetted part of rad frame at bottom onto sidepod - on the latter, there are three rivets, but you can only see two of them on here.

Hope this helps.

My clubsport fixings are similar to splitpin's photo's there, the top bracket looks a bit different but it's much the same.

Thanks for taking the trouble to post such a clear reply, it really is helpful.

The "lip" at the top of my oil cooler looks to have been cut off, and the holes in the GRP are there but no backet, and no bracket at the base either.
Clearly it has been modified in the past but I can't think what advantage was being sought in removing the brackets

Something else to fix!

Welcome. Me neither, makes you wonder whether it wasn't a 'genuine' one? Bottom frame and top bracket slightly different to ours, but all three basic parts seem to show here >
