30 degree HANS from DT £399
Discussion
Very interesting.
I have been put off buying a HANS by the price (I know....) of a 30 degree version. That said, the other day I sat in the car with my friend's 20 degree model on and it seemed to line up fine and the bit behind my head seemed vertical (the key factor I understand??).
Is there a general concensus that 30 degree is the one to use in a Rad, or is it related to height? I'm 6'2" so I was wondering if the extra height made me sit slightly more upright and therefore more suited to a 20 degree version?
Any thoughts???
I'm keen to garner your thoughts as a 20 degree item would obviously be more use if I jump in a tin top etc so if the 20 dgree item is good for the SR3 too then everyone is a winner.
Cheers.

With very very few exceptions, (regrettably) a 30 degree is the one for a Rad; that was the right one for two of us and we're near enough the same height as you.
BTW, the DT price is £487.50 inc Vat & Del, so in the overall scheme of things (like the price of tyres and fuel, neither of which are as intrinsically important to me as my neck) I'm more than happy that I took the now expired chance to buy the superior Pro Version for a bit over £300 more.

I use a 20 deg with my SR3, there are no comfort issues or restricted movement whatsoever.

so how does one get to try out whether you need 20 or 30 degrees in your own car? Not that I need to (as I'm happy with mine), but interest in how you'd do it in practice.

While searching neck supports i found the Defnder system http://www.defnderneckbrace.com/ anyone used one? @£399.00 its not a bad buy altho myself its only track use for now.
I bought a DefeNder and subsequently sold it prior to using it, but for no real reason other than being easily swayed! I thought it was very comfortable, though a bit on the heavy side, and couldn't really fault it. Some of the Tarmac Rally guys down here use them and give positive reviews. I ended up selling it to buy a Pro Hans as it was recommended to me and the weight saving was appealing, though how much of a difference it will make I don't know...
For the record I found HANS devices a lot cheaper from the US than the UK. My Pro cost me $995 USD delivered to Australia, and the Pro was between $600 and $650 USD from memory.
