MG B back axle advice
Discussion
I'm at my mother's place and therefore don't have a workshop manual to hand.
Found 2 back axles, virtually identical apart from spline length (wire wheel and steel wheel variation?). They look as though they're the tube type, not the banjo type.
What I can't remember is a) which type will fit my 79 roadster and b) which length of spline is for wire wheel and which is for steel.
Any help gratefully received.

Tube to banjo- Tube axle is very heavy, banjo axle isn't. Banjo axle has an alloy diff housing which can be removed at the front with a ring of bolts, the tube the ring of bolts is at the back and removes a cover plate.
Not sure what you mean by spline length though? If it has splines it's a wire wheel axle surely? Unless you've pulled the half shafts maybe?

If they are both bolt or wire type then you'll probably find both are exactly the same ratio so it will be down to condition more than anything else.
Value wise they aren't worth much, if I end up with any left over from projects I just sell them to clear space, £25 ish seems to be the going rate.
You've just reminded me I need to stick a load of suspension bits on ebay!
