help!!! mg zr 1.4 wont start

hi all i am after some help please i have a 2003 mg zr 1.4cc petrol which ran out of fuel i have put a galoon of fuel in it but it now wont start there is no fuel coming through to the engine as i took the fuel pipe of that connects to the fuel rail and its bone dry any suggestions thanks guys sean.

Does the car have an in line fuel filter? If so running the tank dry may have sucked all of the rubbish from the bottom of the tank into the filter and blocked it. Might need a new filter there.

thanks but all sorted needed more fuel than one can ended up needing £17 of fuel to get fuel pump to prime cheers sean
