mgb gt no ignition

About 2 months ago i bought a 1979 mgb gt to do up as a present for my dad (he has always liked them).

I've had no problems with it starting till the other day. i turned the key nothing? no lights on the dash, no interior lights and no 12v anywhere?

the battery is full and the main + lead from the battery has 12v, the body has good earth and all 7 fuses under the bonnet are ok?

In the manual it referes to a inline 500 milamp fuse but doesn't say where this is?

Do you have power on the main cable at the starter? If so I'd say a break between there and the ignition barrel. Check for voltage at the live side of the fuse box and then at the back of the ignition barrel.
