MGF Hydragas Suspension Question
Discussion
I bought my MGF earlier this year but I have never driven another one so I don't have anything to compare it to. It seems very harsh suspension-wise, and I live in rural France so the roads are pretty bumpy. I don't know when it was last pumped up, so is it fair to assume it needs doing?
Also, is/are there any other maintenance/mods that can be done to make it less harsh/bumpy?
Forgive my ignorance, but I've never had a hydragas car before...

Probably time for a re-gas as its probably bumping on the top stops. Mine did this over the summer and the ride was bloody awful. Regas here in UK costs around £40 total and will make the driver loads better. Also, check your shock absorbers for excessive play, just push down on each corner and if they bounce then new shockers - Flea Bay is your best bet - get some KYB ones to replace (had these on my MK1 MR2 and they are great). I live in Kent and drive the country lanes a fair bit, but driving is so much more planted after the suspension service.
If you are getting knock or clunk, then you may have excessive play in the lower front wishbones, shot bushes or at worst a cracked wishbone. Personally, I'd go over the top and lower joints too to check for any play in these areas.
If you keep an eye on Flea Bay, you can get a set of Powerflex Bushes for £120 for the whole car.
