Am I doing something wrong
Discussion
My daughter has just taken delivery of a company car and has been trying to sell her mgf.
I priced her car according to work done since she aquired the car, Fully reconditioned engine, new clutch low miles etc.
The price I put the car for sale was £1,800 it is a 2001 british racing green 1.6 owners 2 + garage and very clean.
She has had No enquires am I asking too much?

The problem being it's a 1.6 and if it's the Semi Auto Steptronic, then that will add to your problems in trying to sell it I am afraid. Also, worst possible time of year to sell a convertible because you wont get top money. If the sale is not urgent, I would garage it and put it up early Spring.
Thank you for your reply and your input.
My dad has just told me he had started this topic ( think the reason he started it as hes not very happy that its stuck in his garage)
Its not a semi auto its a standard manual, and yes it is the worse time of year to try and sell it but ill keep trying, ive had it up on pistonheads for about 3 weeks http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2187656.htm but had no enquires
Thanks again

Looking at the interior picture on the ad, it appears as though the driver's seat has a huge water stain on it. I don't know if that's the case, and if it is whether the leak has been fixed, but I'd be worrying about going to look at a car which was going to flood when it rains. Might be worth addressing in the ad?
Thank you for your replies.
The car has never had a leak, doesnt pour in when it rains or anything, even when we had the floods I was dry as a bone, to tell you truth I am unsure where it has appeared from but thanks for your input I will try my best to remove it.
As for the plate I am in the process of having it removed, and will be putting it on retention, as it cost £1,000.00 to buy so I am a little reluctant to let it go.
I have just listed it on Ebay and have dropped the price to £1,500.00.

Notes after a quick look at PH adverts
Just trying to help not criticise
As you’ve now found you need to put more effort in, too late now if it’s on eBay but for next time -
it’s a buyer’s market, there are loads of Fs out there so you need to make your advert and car as attractive as possible
Post new photos –
there was bright sunshine and you took the shots in the shade,
take the shots away from where you prepared the car, on a nice (quiet) country lane say
one with roof up but all others with roof down,
clean and polish the cabin and engine bay and take shots of them
Anything black make it look black especially on a dark coloured car, e.g. petrol cap, spray the tyre walls with TireFoam takes seconds and no effort
Brush the hood or use something like Renevo
Polish all glass and vinyl areas not just clean them
Put more in your advert text than bare facts (but don’t over do it)
Service history (?) what, dealer, specialist, full, going back x years
the engine is fully reconned so a sparkling pic of it will do wonders to reinforce that fact
Road tax, MOT – don’t leave people guessing
Try just reading other adverts without looking at the photos of the cars and see which ones make you want to look at the photo – everyone who wants to buy an F should know what it looks like so flat pics of yours do nothing to show how good yours is, same with the (non-existing) description text
Apart from the Ipod don’t all F come with what you’ve listed, sure put them but right at the end of the advert if you wanted just before your contact details
