Hi all. Went to see an 'F' earlier for the wife & the engine is tucked away very very well. Does anything unbolt to give greater access or is that it?
Also, what are the pitfalls with them mechanically? Anything specific to look out for?
It drove well enough, engine seems healthy, oil & coolant look as they should. It's a 'P' reg with 43k & all the stamps in the book etc.

there is a plate that is removable under the rear shelf fabric about a dozen bolts. some like to remove the soft top to really get in there ...

Apart from the obvious head gasket oil and fluids check the radiator and also see if the suspension is level. Check the gear shift for vaguness (not a problem to fix but a haggling point). Check for rust around the sills and front wings and other thatn that jsut what you would check on any other used car
