SRS Light On (MGF)
Discussion
OK, so my SRS airbag light has just come on and wont go away. Although it did go out a couple of times over the past couple of days it's on permanently now.
I understand that MGFs are pront to the under-seat connectors becoming poor connections, so I checked them and they seem fine - although one of the wires (passenger) was trapped under the front round seat support bar (it isn't now).
So what should I look for next? (please don't say another car)...

Your best bet is to take it to a garage and get them to code read it my garage cost £25 to code read it most garages are around the same price your most likely at looking something wrong with the air bag if it is not the connectors or wires. Same happened to my zs but went back out it hasnt came back on yet
Check the fuse first if that is ok then Get your local garage to plug there scanner into it, the connectors under the seats do give problems, disconnect the battery and check them for corrosion it might just fix it but the fault will still be stored in the control unit, the only way to clear the fault code is with the scanner. The control units do fail as well.
Its a simple thing.
Under the passenger seat there's (should be) yellow connector / plug.
Unplug it - plug it back in securely (tightly) and start the car - its a common problem that the connections are bad on them.
My rover 45 plays up now and again - all i do is reach under - press it together - switch the car off and start it again.
Cheers

It's even simpler to read the opening post! Thanks for the suggestions guys. However, on re-checking the wires under the seats I can only find one on each side, and they are both red? Where/what are the yellow ones that are mentioned??
I think maybe I need to remove the seats, as I'm not agile enough to see any more wires under there!!!
Help/advice appreciated...

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I took the seats out to have a proper look at the connectors and re-did them properly, SRS light now out!
That's what I did and with a tad of Copper Grease on the sixteen year old connectors' terminals, no more problems. Vacuumed the carpets under the seats at the same time. Two birds one stone scenario. So it was the connectors, it usually is and was with mine. When my 6'3" son uses my MGF, back goes the seat fully and other adjustments. Cue SRS light to come on. Soon fixed.
