Hi,

Could anyone recommend a garage within the Three Counties area that is able to do the cambelt/water pump change for the '180? My usual garage does not want to get involved with this work unfortunately!

All help appreciated,
Thanks.

Just as closure I have a friend who works for a garage in Northampton, service, MOT and cambelts for ~£700.

Although he has now said I won't need the belts for at least another year given that the ZS has only done 20,000.....

The service interval for the belts is 6 years or 90k, whichever comes first. If the car is over 6 years old I'd recommend having them done as they deteriate over time. Make sure any quote includes changing all 3 belts and the tensioners. It's probably worth having the thermostat changed at the same times as the plenum has to come off when doing the belts making it easy to get to. I didn't bother having it done and it started leaking about 6 months later...

If you're willing to travel, there guys are highly recommended for the job and can do it in a few hours while you wait: http://lates600.com. They did mine and countless other cars from the Xpower forum.

My mechanic had come back to say the belts did actually need changing, however I have not needed to change the water pump.
Tensioners and thermostat have not been done, that was not something I was aware of. Never mind....
