Posted this in other forum but well worth a look for MG owners

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... for a classic

Sorry I can't find the thread where someone suggest Peter James but "thank you" from me to that person

I wished I'd known when I bought the Midget 3 years ago as what i'd have saved in that time would easily have paid this year's premium and note I have my car insurance fully loaded with the extras

That may have been me in this thread:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Someone else briefly mentioned them but I expanded on it!

Aren't they good - I'm very pleased with their service. Lets hope they don't expand and get bought out and go downhill like Footman James did.

Funny but I got a very good deal on a MGB roadster, with a zetec engine fitted from Flux! £100 limited mileage and agreed value.

For multi car I got the B my C and the TVR cerb for just over 500, on 3k/yr esch, agreed value.

All fully comp.

The range rover , sorry Saga best ! lol!

I wouldn't worry about them being bought out by FJ

I understand (without opening that link- I try not to, you never know what's there) that Peter James was the James part of FJ so it's unlikely

I've heard lots of good things about them too but when I rang for a quote last month no bugger could be arkssed to answer the phone

So I ended up with my original insurer..

Yes it says that on the link or web site if you don't trust the link (nothing wrong with being cautious)

If you'd gone to the web site (or follow the link - Peter James ) you'd have the explanation for this and been able to fill in a bit at the bottom of the Home page for them to ring you back (their cost not yours) let your finger(s) do the walking - on the keyboard, at no cost (additional) or profit to the telecom boys

I know how you feel about not getting a reply but I don't want others to miss out - others go to the web site, read the blurb, fill in the phone back request and see what you get

perdu try again next year perhaps, drive safely

Have no fear. I am going to try again

my problem at the time was, disorganised as usual, I ran out of renewing time. Hence no time to switch on the 'pooter and surf...

Still I did get a good price from my old insurer and they will be fine for the present.

Well I tried Flux and yes, they're not bad but when I found out they were charging me £45 for breakdown cover (which incidently they "forgot" to mention!) I went to P. James which includes it free.
That, limited mileage (unlimited for no extra charge with PJ) and the fact that Flux were more expensive.
All classic policies should be agreed value - if they're not, walk away!
(A trivial point but they also discontinued the Flux magazine and made it online only - not good for work!)
