The new owners of MG that are launching the new MG6 and the end of the year i believe are considering runing in the btcc with the new ngtc regs and engine next year and with there being no MG runing in the btcc in this year and last its good news that the name is back and 2 more cars on the grid for 2011 and hopefully a change to a more manafactures in the series what do people think.

I think it's a Chinese car called an MG.

Which is designed in the UK with final assembly in the UK... I would say over 50% British still..

I'd agree.

It doesn't have any MG flair at all. Just looks like a badge engineered Hyundai / Kia / #insert name of any far eastern car maker# clone.

Having read the Autocar review where they state:

Rival: Kia Cee'd
Sporty, good to look at and great to drive, it shows you how much has changed since MG closed its factory that Kia is a more established and credible alternative to the MG6. It’s sure to offer better residual values, too.

A real pity. I've always been an MG fan, but this one... no way.

Either way I'd like to see MG back in touring cars, the more manufacturers the better! So far this season hasn't really got going for me. I would be interested to see how well the MG6 would do

Im suprrised you said that i think this year had been one of the best season for the btcc for many years for there to be 2-3 manafactures backed teams if you count ford and all the privertiers make for a really good season 22 cars on the grid and could grow to 26 when ford, chevrolets, honda bring in there 3rd cars latter onin the season and still in a recision that is really good and compared to the wtcc which has lower entries that is good for a national series, the race in oulton park was classic btcc with the new regs ngtc it may go back to the good days of being 9-10 manafactures on the grid only time will see but that is my opinion

So it's got a few Brits working on the designs, and a few more bolting the bloody doors on. Hardly significantly British, is it?
