MG ZS hatchback question

Does anyone know if the MG ZS hatchback has the same sort of beam going across the back when the seats are folded that the saloon does?

The reason I ask is I used to have a ZS 180 saloon in the dim and distant past and that left a kind of panel across where the rear seats had been folded, which meant you still only had a relatively small apperture to poke things in from the boot. It made what was quite a big area in total pretty useless for carrying big loads (I'm thinking specifically mountain bike frames) because it was effectively cut in two.

I'm now on the lookout for a new daily driver and thought I might consider another ZS if the hatchback solved this problem.

No the hatch does not have the beam behind the seats.

If you carry 5 people often, you might want to know that there is only get a lap belt in the middle seat rather than a 3 point one.

Cool, so the whole volume of the back seats/boot is free to cram stuff in?

Can someone remind me what sort of MPG figures they get? Sure my saloon used to return about 30mpg even at enthusiastic cruising speeds with that silly spoiler on the back, but it's a few years ago now. I've seen several ads where people claim they're selling because they need something more economical, but as far as I can remember there's only about 5mpg difference between a ZS180 and the 1.6 Focus I currently drive.

Yep. The rear seats fold 'flat' too (the bench is pivoted at the front and folds forward, the 'backrest' fold into this space.)

I see at least 30 on my daily commute during the summer months driving sensibly (flowing A & B roads.) But this will depend on your driving style.

My diesel 115+ does 60mpg, has all the extras, is no slouch, and stops and handles every bit as good as a 180.

Just sounds like a tractor.
