HIYA people.

Thanks to everyone who got involved in the topic of my new tf. That has now gone for good and been replaced with a lovely electric blue MG TF. So what do you drive? Where do you go? Who do you know? ANything exciting (within reason) happen whilst in your car?

Come offer advice for me or anyone else. I'm looking for a good MG ZT Modder. I would like Clear rear lenses for it but unable to find any. Does anyone know if there available?

Cheers in advance

Mark

Can you clarify what car you've got? The title says ZT, this

..implies you've got a TF, then this

...back to ZT again, and your profile says "goodbye MG TF, hello ZR"

So is it a ZT, a TF or a ZR?!!

Aha, just seen the next post down - you have a ZT.

I don't think there's much in the way of styling kit out for ZT's, best place to look around, if you don't already know about it is www.mg-rover.org , alternatively try www.xpower-mg.com/

Excellent, I'm only 23 so I got the 120 version just to start just to get used to the size of the thing. It was a big step up from the TF oh and the insurance too its only 480 full comp but was a bit hefty as i got up to the bigger engines. Give it a year or two then I'll be upthere with the big boys.

Lovely car though

Both very good sites with plenty of ZT mods, not sure if any aftermarket rear lights are available though.

I've got a ZR 105 at the minute.

I test drove a ZS 120 and a ZS180 last year, nearly bought the 180.

As far as I'm aware...no-one produces clear Lexus stylee lights for either the ZT or the ZS. The demand apparantly isn't there to justify the costs of producing them.

If you want that sort of stuff....you need a ZR. As for your metal zorst surround... yeah, the online shop at mg-rover.org may have it....... but you should also be able to get it from your dealer.

If you want any other stuff...you could try motobuild. You really need to have a wee look on the mg forums tho' like muncher said.

Yeah thats what I thought. BMW gave some to the old 5 series but it didnt take on. I don't blame them to be honest. Maybe I could get some made by some pro light maker or something.........

ZT now has rattle in rear coming from the handbrake drum they nearly told me I couldnt have car back either because they hadnt finished job when they did. This whole MG rattle and 2nd rate service is coming back to haunt me.

You won't find anyone making one off sets for you, from when the first sets of aftermarket lights produced for the ZR, the tooling costs are thousands alone.

As for the rattles, the dealer should sort them and you should have a courtesy car while you wait.If not, go to another dealer.

Well the rattle is getting worse now muncher. I'm going to call them later on today to have a wee shout. Like I said when they took it in they phoned me to explain its not finished I asked for courtesy car with no such luck. So the outcome was the guy working on the car was going to stay late to finish, which i thought was great of them. Ok so later I find the rattle is still there and the handbrake is not tight so I have to now leave it in gear to stop doing that thing liek th insurance advert. Where it buggers off down the hill only I dont have a garage so it might find the nearest wall to park into.

So my plan is to get them to sort it and take a courtesy car if they have one. If not there going to have to promise me it will be fixed this time on time intime ect ect. If not I will try another dealer failing that swear at them and sell it and buy another brand.

Mark,

I too have a ZT. I've got the 160+. Done 14K in eight months and been very happy with it.

The only thing I'd say is start hunting for new tyres now. Just paid £785 for replacememnt Michelins. I'm sure with a bit more advanced warning I could have got them cheaper.

OH MY GOD £700 for tyres no way. What wheels do you have on your ZT? I got 17" 5 spokes I think there standard wheels. I’ve done just over 3k in mine I do love it but very under powered. I hate a bloody 2ltr turbo diesel as courtesy car and that was rapid enjoyed a four hour attempt at breaking it but I failed.

Update on the rattle "ITS GONE". Apparently when you take the suspension off there is a ring welded to the top of the spring, well there was a spare one on mine not welded so they removed it and guess what "NO RATTLE". So I'm once again happy. How is the 160 model apart from over priced tyres?
