My roadster is a red 1972 chrome bumper with OD and lovely chrome roystyle wheels, it looks great and I love to spend a summer’s weekend cleaning it up and tinkering with it. But I bought a Porsche and I don't have room for 3 cars - I leave my 96 Golf Tdi (daily commuter) at the back of the house and the Porsche on the drive with my wife’s car.

I love the B it's the car I always wanted and although it’s got a bit of rust the car is solid. It’s currently parked in my Parents garage over 50 miles away.

What should I do, I was thinking about leasing it? Or just sell it, but then if I want one in a few year time I have to go through the hassle of looking at loads before I get the right one. That said I would love a V8 version of mine. I think its worth about 4k.

Other points my 2 year old son love the car and it cost me about £300 a year to run including insurance.

Any thoughts?

Unless you need the space or the money, I'd hang on to it. It's not losing any value while it's sitting there and if you know you're not going to use it for a while, you could put it on 'laid-up' insurance to reduce the cost.

(Do you ever read the 'Cars you wish you had never sold thread?') smile

Keep it! I'm just about to take over the ownership of my dad's one, 3 years after mine was nicked. I'm really looking forward to it. They have their snubbers, and I don't care for many of the owners (Clarkson has them down to a T) but that doesn't detract away from the fact that it's a pretty car with a nice sound, an overdrive gearbox and enough torque and power to keep up with a modern 1.8 hatch while driving acceptably well.
