Not mine but a freind at work who cant get to a PC. He recently fitted a new head gasket ( R plate VVC engine ) all seems good with water level/temp. However he has had loads of probs with stating the car once warm. Starts from cold almost every time but when warm just turns over and and floods.

Started cold and drove to the shop, come out of the shop wont start. Go to pick up 2 hours later starts first time.

Any ideas

Cheers

Not sure on a R plate, but older cars suffered with vaporlock.Too much heat getting to the inlet manifold.Causeing the fuel to turn to vapor.AFAIK

Tell him to check all temperature sensors

if he had the head off he may have misfitted (even missed out)a sensor plug, if so the ECU could be fuelling for a Cold Start

better warn him he could be in for a cat change too if its been pouring unburnt U/L through the exhaust

(worst case scenario though...)
