Year 2000 MGF - Does it get better??

Not long had my W-Plate 1.8i and now its the garage for the past 10 days having a cart load of work done...see my list:-

1) Upgraded Steel Head Gasket + K-Seal
2) Replacement Cooling System Hoses (near enough all of 'em)
3) Water Pump / Thermostat
4) Cambelt and Auxillary Belts and Tension Kit
5) Full Major Service
6) New Discs & Pads
7) Poly-Bushes
8) Toyo Proxes T1R's all round
9) Various little misc. items
10) Roll Over Hoops

With all parts, labour and Gordon Brown's P*** take element just over £1,450 gone into her

Now...is there anything else I need to know here, be aware of?? or should I now be sorted??

Only ones I would add are to check the condition of the radiator (the bottom gills start flaking first and it ends up with loads of cooling fins missing and the core separating from the bottom tank), and the condition of the metal underfloor cooling pipes if it is just the flexibles that have been replaced - these are mild steel and corrode at the points where the support brackets are spot-welded to the pipes. Feel and condition of the gears - if really sloppy, maybe bushes in the mechanism. If the clutch feels unduly heavy - at some point, you will probably find that the clutch release arm pivot has corroded inside the bellhousing; the original can't be lubricated - which means an arm replacement (new aftermarket ones can be lubricated!) and I seem to remember that is an engine out job

Otherwise, you've got pretty much everything else major covered in one go there!

I would add a low coolant level alarm to the list too.

Just hope the garage carried out the neccessary checks on the liners and head before deciding which type of gasket to use
