leaking mg hood
Discussion
What model MG is the car?
If its an MGF then it sounds like the classic symptom of a broken window stop.
The stop fits in a hole in the bottom edge of the glass and prevents the window raising too high and sliding outside the seal.
On early cars the stop was made from plastic and is prone to breaking, but on latter cars the design was improved.
Instructions on how to replace and the part numbers for the 3 bits that make up the latter design stop can be found here.
