leaking mg hood

my daughters car has a good leak on the drivers side,when the hood is up the drivers window sits on the outside of the rubber seal thus letting water in,unlike the passengers side which the window goes on the inside of the seal, any suggestions please????????/

What model MG is the car?

If its an MGF then it sounds like the classic symptom of a broken window stop.
The stop fits in a hole in the bottom edge of the glass and prevents the window raising too high and sliding outside the seal.
On early cars the stop was made from plastic and is prone to breaking, but on latter cars the design was improved.
