Ziebart was applied to the complete engine bay of my Mg when it was new, although it has kept the dreaded rust at bay it looks terrible. Now the car only goes out on nice days and not in the winter i want to remove the black crap that covers the engine bay. Anyone ideas the best way to do it, while keeping the paint under it okay? Any solvents that can be used that will not attack the paint?

Lots of effort a hot air gun and a variety of scrapers.Your local paint suppliers will supply a glue remover, for double sided tape applications on bodywork and this may work.
