midget suspension question???
Discussion
hi all
i have a '79 1500 midget with those 'orriblr gret lumps of rubber/steel at both ends...
i removed both bumpers but the front end has lifted by a good few inches (i read somewhere that it would )
i can but a lowering kit from the MGB hive but does the modification to lower the front end just involve swapping the front coils for pre-74 coils?? (which were for the steel bumper version)
or does it involve something deeper??
anyone lowered a midget??
it's hard to tell from this pic but the little car does need the fron lowering as it has the correct angle of attack to achieve take-off

That MG enthusiasts' web site is probably the best for MGBs and Midgets and all older MGs previous to those. Plenty of folks contribute worldwide on that site and there's a wealth of experience there. Worth getting over there if not already done so.
... Funny thing is, when I bought my first MGB back in the early 1960s, I was told by older MG enthusiasts that it was not a proper MG. I wonder what those would now say about my MG Montego Turbos and my MGZS... don't answer that ....
One of the nice things about owning MGs is getting to meet others from all over the planet who love these cars. My son had a contact from New Zealand drop by recently ~ this is the car he uses when over here visiting his parents...VED exempt too... a nice example..

I have a newish spare pair of rear leaf springs for a 1275 RWA
(I had some issues with one side being lower than the other so replaced the rear springs. Turned out to be the front suspension causing the problem not the rear so I have a nearly new spare rear set)
Im in Warwickshire, contact me if your interested. chardfowler@hotmail.co.uk
