I'm in the process of trying to tune up the carbs on the midget. following removal and refitting of the jets I have found fuel is leaking from the bottom of the float chambers, when I try to start the engine. On closer inspection I found the tubes connecting float chamber to jet could be pulled out even though the nut was tight.

They appear to be missing a ferrule, should there be one?

I have a 1500 Midget with a race built engine, stage 3 head and cam' running a pair of Webbers and Lumerington ignition I was going to fit into a Moggy Traveler, but if you'd like the engine for your car let me know.

I could be interested, did you build it your self, is it ok for road or a bit extreme, how much do want for it? pictures.

The engine was built about ten years ago for a track day/fast road Midget. The rest of the car has rusted around it while the owner was getting shot at (by Americans probably) for Queen and Country. I'll find out prices and what not as soon as.

Just to conclude, taking a closer look at the float chambers (by removing them) I found that there was a small rubber washer that needed replacing. once correctly installed - no more leaks (Yay!).

That's a result. Check the floats while you're at it they can become pourous.
