They are stupidly cheap for the amount of metal you get.

Had mine for 4 years & 35k miles only problem so far was a leak from the Aircon, fixed by unkinking a hose!

£6k adds a supercharger to 400+hp

Solidly built

Comfy - great mile eater.

Needs accufab throttle body to get a bit of top end adge.

S'pose it could be a bit quicker in straight line, but handles very nicely.

4.6 litre V8 with 100+k mile major service interval whats not to like?

Few known issues all resolved cheaply.

Only expensive bit are rear disks but they can be got cheaper than xpart from http://forum.two-sixties.com/default.asp

See http://www.spunagain.co.uk/ZT260page.html for more I know it needs updating...

quite simple - 'Yes', they are good.

Replaced my Saab Aero with one. Been very happy with it and really quite surprised by the build quality and the handling. Had it on track and apart from obviously being slower than my TVR, it was great. Very tempted to supercharge it. Good family saloon and great to drive quickly (especially with traction control off smile ).

Only negatives - aircon/demist even when working isn't great and lack of left foot rest is a bit of a bind. Others have documented or given links to the known issues.

Servicing cheap.

Another vote yes from an owner here.

I've had mine for over 3 years. It's the first time I've not got bored of a car within 6 months, and I still can't imagine what I'd replace it with if I wrote it off. When I do eventually get a bit of cash together, I'll probably chuck a couple of grand at the engine, which should be more than enough to get another 100+ horses or so out of it.

It's reasonably rapid in standard form, and given it's bulk, over twisty stuff it's pretty exceptionally quick. It's certainly more than able to stay up with 90% of the stuff that turns out on PH hoons.

As has been said above, take a look at the owners' club. There's only 350 or so of these cars on the roads in the UK, and something like half of the owners are club members. I doubt there's many models which can claim that sort of level of enthusiast ownership.

shame they're thin on the ground, finding one is proving difficult, apart from the one with no history

Bit bland?

I'm wondering if any history on the blue one could be retreived?

If the previous owners are contactable, presumably they know where it was serviced, I got some more history on the Cerb this way.

I know the blue one was up for sale at a dealer in Scotland in February last year, and it had already had 4 owners by that point, which has to be a little worrying.

Having said that, there's very little that actually goes wrong with these. He says he's a member of the two-sixties, so ask him if he has fitted the club replacement hose. Don't say any more than that. He should know exactly what you're talking about. If he doesn't, I'd probably move on.

I've enquired about the silver one, they've given me a price on the wife's trade in, which isn't too shabby.

I'm going to speak to her and see what she wants to do.

Might be two weeks too early unfortunately, she will have wanted to have moved house before she buys.

If it's still there though scratchchin

What are you trading in?

Would it help to point out that a nice, practical estate would help in moving house?

When you test drive it, btw, take the time to look down and see how fast you're going from time to time. It is rather deceptive.

What's real-world mpg like? And surely someone like Roush makes add-ons to make the engine a bit more... sophisticated?

I seen the ZT385 prototype with the Rousch supercharger it was so big they had to cut the inner skin and one of the braces on the bonnet to get it in. it did look a long way from being production ready. Along side it sat Dreadnought's supercharged ZT400, what a diffrence, a much more thought out and complete installation.
If you are looking for "upgrades" speak with Brian ( or Paul / Claire) at Dreadnought and he can addvise you, I'm speaking as a happy customer of their's since I got my ZT260 in 2004.

I generally average around 18mpg, with up to about 27 on a motorway cruise, and down to about 8mpg on track.
