The seats in my B are absolutely knackered and I need to either refurb or replace them.

Has anyone gone down the refurb route? if so, how long did it take? Was it expensive? I've been looking the kits that are available from the MGOC and it appears to be quite expensive.

If it's just a swap out - is that quite straight-forward? Looks like it's just a couple of bolts and then they left out, but as with most things like this I'd imagine that it's not as simple as it initially appears.

Cheers,

A

4 bolts per seat. Lift out.

Recovering is a simple job, you have to be pretty hopeless to mess it up.

Pretty straight forward as long as the bolts are not rusted in! Dont do as I did and struggle to access the bolts before realising it'll be easier if I push the seat right back to undo the front ones and slide it forward to get to the back onesirked
One part of the runner will come lose, just needs putting back in place when you replace the seats.smile

If that doesn't work, take the grinder to it.

yeah maybe for some - biggest row we,ve ever had was whilst trying to do a good job of recovering seats

B front seats can be replaced with brand new seats including frames

I've just collected a kit of seat covers and full kits from MGOC and taken them and the seat to an upholsterer, I'll pay him for the hassle and his expertise, like a lot of things (hood fitting springs to mind) getting a really good finish isn't as easy as it may at first seems

RW Brockwells Tennyson Ave, King's Lynn, Norfolk. (01553) 764582 The best upholsterors I've ever delt with. From standard retrims to full custom interiors. Bit of a waiting list (as you'd expect) but second to none. They'll do anything from a bike seat to a bus.
