Does anyone know of a good company to look at using to get insurance just for the duration of a test drive, or for 24 hours? My current insurance policy does not cover for driving other cars, and I want to make sure I don't fall foul when looking at an MG!

Thanks

As I understand it, you cannot have two policies running on one vehicle.
So if the car you are looking at is Private & insured, the best you could hope for would be to be added to the owners policy.

Or make sure you current policy says you can drive any other vehicle 3rd party - be careful though as the car still needs to be insured by the owner for that to work.

If the vehicle has trade insurance- then you'd have to clarify with the trader what hs terms are for a test drive.

If it's not already insured, I know you can get one day insurance policies (i've had them recently)- but I think you'd be able to find it on Google, or better still, speak to an insurance broker.

Why not save the cash, do a normal test drive & have an independant inspection done on it. If you're savvy enough, the vendor may pay for it too.

Good luck with the purchase anyway!
