My name is Grant and I have just become a member on Pistonhead forum -

I bought an MGB roadster about a year ago and have had no problems apart from a misfire that caused the car to take ages turning over before starting up and once started, ran very lumpy and backfired. After changing the HT leads, plugs and distributer, (with no success) by cahnce, found out that the distributer had come lose in the baracket holding it to the block of the engine which was causing the fault. Once tightened correctly, this resolved the problem. However, prior to this fault, the car started on the first turn of the key but after this fault, it the starter motor turns over fst, then very slow as if the battery is flat and then speeds up as the engine starts. The battery has been fully charged following the car being SORN over the winter.

Does anyine have any idea what the problem may be please?
